AgriLabs Adds OTC Companion Animal Division
ST. JOSEPH, Mo—AgriLabs has launched ProLabs, a division dedicated to the introduction, marketing and over-the-counter sales of safe, effective health care products for companion animals.
Founded in 1984 and long recognized as the animal health industry’s leading food animal marketing and sales organization, AgriLabs owes much of its success to a partnership structure and philosophy committed to expeditious product development. Relying on technology transfer agreements with manufacturers, AgriLabs can convey innovative technologies directly from the research laboratory to the animal health marketplace, demonstrated by its successes in a long line of state-of-the-art products for the beef and dairy industries. ProLabs now brings the veterinary industry’s most efficient delivery system of emergent technologies to the companion animal OTC market.
“With several recent exclusive companion animal development agreements in place and the very positive outcomes of a number of on-going research projects, we will provide pet owners with a line of unique, clinically proven health care products,” said Jim Glassford, AgriLabs vice president of marketing. “We offer innovative products and vaccines typically available only from veterinarians. Retailers will now have the ProLabs line of pet health care products to fill a void that exists in companion animal care. With safe, cost-effective solutions to the daily problems faced by dogs and cats, owners can now be directly involved in their pets’ health care.”
ProLabs products launched at October's HH Backer Christmas Show in Chicago. “Retailers will benefit from effective marketing programs developed by Brian Reardon, our strategic business unit manager,” Glassford said.
Reardon commented, “I know retailers will be excited to learn about the availability of ProLabs FELINE Tape Worm Tabs®. Tapeworms are common parasites of dogs and cats, living in the animals’ small intestines and growing to several feet in length. The biggest problem with them? Most dog and cat owners don’t know that their pets are harboring the parasites.” He further explained that “If a pet has fleas or it is a hunter, there is a good chance it will have tapeworms. For every customer looking for a flea treatment or preventive product, Tape Worm Tabs has to be a part of the conversation.”
Praziquantel is the most widely used tapeworm treatment in the country, with a history of proven safety and effectiveness. Now that Feline Tape Worm Tabs brand praziquantel is available in pet shop and retail outlets, both cat and dog owners can take care of these easily treatable problems cost-effectively and conveniently at home.
