U.S. Triumphs At World Grooming Competition

Dachau, Germany—Competing against some of the best professional groomers from around the world, Groom Team USA triumphed in the World Grooming Team Championships, which took place in Dachau, Germany in September 2009. Groom Team USA took first place in three categories (poodles, purebred scissoring and spaniels and setters) and third place in hand-stripping, to earn the gold medal.

 

Groom Team USA members included Lindsey Berry, Irina Pinkusevich, Komako Tanaka and Veronica Frosch. Greta Dalrymple served as alternate and Teresa Dreese was team coordinator. Sponsors for the 2009 team included Andis clippers, Wahl clippers, 4420 shears and Groomer’s Helper.

 

"This is a tremendous achievement honoring the artistry, expertise and hard work of our team members. The competition has the very best groomers in the world," said Chuck Simons, a team advisor and proprietor of Groom Team USA sponsor Groomer’s Helper. “Having a world championship shows how far the profession of grooming has come and the level of excellence of the industry throughout the world.”

 

Groom Team USA is a nonprofit organization that encourages professional pet stylists from across the country to maximize their grooming education and skills by participating in various sanctioned grooming contests.
