Wag'n Tails' Charity Event a Success
GRANGER, Ind.—Wag’n Tails Mobile Conversions’ third-annual Mobile Grooming for a Cause charity event, held in October in conjunction with the ASPCA and Human Society Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, was a success.
Anne Ledet of Smithtown Mobile Grooming claimed the Wag’n Tails-sponsored $5,000 grand prize in a close contest among a small army of Wag’n Tails grooming vehicle owners volunteering to clean up shelter pets to make them more adoptable.
In all, Wag’n Tails owners groomed more than 800 shelter pets across the country in an effort to help them put their best paws forward for prospective adoptive pet parents. “This was a rewarding and heartwarming experience for me,” Ledet reported. “Many of the pets I groomed were adopted during a ‘groomathon’ I did at one of the shelters.”
“All of us at Wag’n Tails want express our gratitude to all of our owners who participated this year,” said Dennis Gnetz, Wag’n Tails president. “We are happy to sponsor this worthwhile event and we are pleased to present Anne with a $5000 check for her magnificent performance this year. Our 3rd year was outstanding and we are very much looking forward to making next year our best ever.”
Ledet added, “I promised the shelters some of my winnings if I was lucky enough to win the grand prize so I’ll be sharing my winnings with them. I want to thank Wag’n Tails for setting up this great opportunity and I want to especially thank all of the other Wag’n Tails owners who participated.”
